Since it is Wednesday, we had weekly Lunch and Learn session. Today Christina the Associate Publisher and Graham the VP of Marketing Solutions spoke to us. They were a humorous duo. They had a wealth of knowledge to share with us. One of Martha's mantras in life is to learn something new everyday and then pass it on to someone else. This mantra was something they incorporated into their discussion. They mentioned taking this mantra and spreading it out to business people, interviewers, etc. It will make you stand out. I completely agree with this statement. I need to differentiate myself as much as possible, knowing something big or small that the other person doesn't will definitely help me out in the long run.

Christina does a lot with ad sales, so I really enjoyed her stories and excitement towards the industry. She has been with Living since the beginning. Every time I hear someone speak about this department I am in awe. I don't think I would want to do it forever, just a few years. I think there is a lot of turnover because it is such a hectic job.

Before hoping on the shuttle we had our pictures taken for the blog. I just can't wait for the post!!!

In the shuttle on the way back to my building I kind of dazed out. I wasn't really paying attention to my surroundings and was just listening to the music in the shuttle. There are a few songs that remind me of home when I hear them. I believe the song playing today was Sweet Home Alabama and I was just picturing driving around Clinton County, being at a party with friends or family, or something random activities that happens at home. It was kind of nice to escape and just think about home and all my of friends and family that I really miss. Then, I came back to reality when a fire truck's sirens started blaring and taxi horns and tires were squealing. I was back in New York. Gotta love it. At least it was nice for a few minutes..

At the last minute at work today some other interns and I decided to go to the River Flick held on Wednesday nights. This week they showed Almost Famous. It was such a nice night out, so it was perfect with the movie and then New Jersey and the Hudson River in the background.

I am so glad we decided to do something. I have been going crazy staying in every night this week. I have less than a month left and have so much to do still. Sitting in my apartment is not acceptable.

Going to events like the Hudson River Flick are what makes me love New York so much. There are so many random events every night that thousands of people attend. I wish STL was more like this. At the movie there were so many people that acted as if they did this every Wednesday. They had a big group, take out sushi, pizza, wine, or whatever they could find. How much fun is that!? I will definitely miss the free entertainment of New York come August 13th.

=)
