Since I didn't make it to a stationery store last night, I went to Kate's Paperiere today in the Upper East Side. They had a lot of fun things there, I just don't get how it can be so expensive. It's paper! Anyways, I bought some really cute note cards that a sales lady helped me pick out.

After the paper store, I walked to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I haven't been to any museums yet, so I decided it would be a great day to go. My ultimate goal was to walk wander around to most of the exhibits, but met some random people in the Modern Art section and walked around with them for awhile. We actually started talking because I had my keffiyah on and he commented.

I really enjoyed the Grecian Art and Modern Art sections. I think I like the Grecian art because I've been really into Greece lately. Alexis studied abroad in Greece a few semesters ago and it sounds amazing! The photos within the exhibit were phenomenal!

I also liked the Modern Art exhibit. With modern art there isn't much need for interpretation. For the most part, what you see is what the artist intended. With most art throughout the museum there are 25 different ways it can be interpreted many of which the artist did not intend.

After watching Factory Girl last semester, I've really enjoyed Andy Warhol's work. It was awesome to see some of his original pieces at The Met. Supposedly there is a Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh, hopefully I'll make it there sometime.

The rooftop exhibit was absolutely amazing! The view of New York and Central Park was the best ever. I hope to go back sometime during the night.

I was told a few days ago that it was $20 required admission to the museum. At the ticket stand I found out it is suggested. The suggested admission for students is $10, but you can pay whatever. So that is my tip to any museum or exhibit goers, make sure you look out for suggested prices. You have to pay something but not the full amount. I paid five dollars today.

After The Met I went back to my apartment and took a nap. The Met took it out of me. It was so big! Mom sent me some flops and while they are really cute, they are so flat and hard. Not good for walking..

Tonight I met up with Andrew and Kathryn at Lunasa Bar for Kathryn's roommates birthday. It was a lot of fun there. There were so many people within the publishing/advertising industry there. It was great to talk to people that are just starting out in their career. Most of the people at the party were from WashU, so most of them have heard of Maryville. Woohoo!

After Lunasa, we went to this amazing fafel stand called Mamoun's Falafel. They had the best hummus I've ever had and it was only $1.50. Andrew had the falafel sandwhich.....it was good, but not as good as my hummus! This place has actually won best cheap eats in NYC since 2005.

I had a really good day, I think my favorite part was receiving my networking cards. They look soooo good! I'm super excited to hand them out!
