there are nice people here, at he isn't from the mid-west!

Things started off a little rough today. I seemed to forget everything in my apartment. On top of being late, I had to run back to my apartment not once, but twice! Eventually making it out of the lobby, I decided to take a taxi because it was so close til 9am.

Pulling up to the office, I hopped out of the taxi and walked into the building. I had this feeling I forgot something, but didn't know what. Sitting down in my cubicle, I realized I didn't have my phone. I knew I had it when I left the apartment because it was one of the items I went back for.

Sadly, I left my phone in the taxi. I called the Taxi and Limo Commission, but nothing was turned in. Sara then suggested calling my phone. It took two times and the driver finally answered it. This was the nicest cabbie I've ever met, probably the nicest person I've met here in general. I asked him where I could pick it up after work and he said "no, no, no, I'll bring it to you when I come back that way!" No more than 20 minutes later, he was calling my office stating he was in front of my office. There truly are nice people in this city, and they aren't all from the Mid-west! =)

The rest of the day wasn't as exciting as the morning. I'm still working on my competitive analysis, currently on hardwire lighting. All of this home decor really makes me want to decorate my own apartment. The day will eventually come when I do not have to move ever 9 months. I just hope it is soon....

I did see Emril today, so that was fun! He seems so normal. It would be amazing for him to say "bam" or "we're going to take it another notch" to me! I can only dream...

After work I went to the gym. It has been so rainy here lately. I hope it stops. It isn't fun walking to the gym in rain, or anywhere for the fact. The city is so gross when it rains. It smells as it is, but it when rains it is so much worse. I've decided it is one of the very few downsides of the city. As long as that list stays to the minimum, I'll be a happy "New Yorker."

Post-pilates, I walked back to the apartment to find my roommates watching My Best Friends Wedding. After the movie, we put in Steel Magnolias. I guess we had a Julia Roberts mini-marathon tonight.

I'll have some exciting stories tomorrow, so stay tuned...hint, hint!
