Today I had to help the furniture designer copy photos of inspiration for a Martha meeting. While it was very tedious and took me 6 hours to complete, it was fun knowing it had to be perfect since they will be presented to Martha on Monday. I guess if I never end up meeting her, at least my work will...
Every Wednesday (Thursday this week) all the interns are invited to a Lunch and Learn. Today we went to the 42nd St Office and listened to Larry Diamond the SVP Business Development and Finance. He spoke about his experiences with MSLO and the ten things he has found helpful throughout his career. I enjoy listening to people and their successful career paths. It really helps me think I have a chance also. The goal of the Lunch and Learn sessions is to help us understand all of the MSLO platforms (Radio, TV, Internet, Retail, Publishing) and how they work together.
We were also informed they are setting up the date for a lunch with Martha! I can't wait. I'm still trying to think of something to say when I first meet her. Any suggestions?
Audrey, one of the two other people in my department, is leaving work early tomorrow for vacation. We are having a meeting in the morning so she can fill me in on what to do while she is gone. I'm excited for more responsibilities!
Tonight was another calm night for me. I went to the gym, ate dinner, and then met Joanna's boyfriend. Hopefully next week I will be a little more active at night and explore the city some more.
I look forward to your Martha greeting suggestions! I want to say more than "nice to meet you" and make a "lasting" impression. I'm just afraid I'm going to make a fool of myself.....i guess she would really remember be then! =)

Sam,
ReplyDeleteJust be yourself when you meet Martha - that is what makes you so charming.
