I met up with Robin today for lunch. We went to one of my favorite places, After a debate, we went to Chelsea Market. After a long debate, we went to Amy's Bread. This time I had the apple and brie sandwhich on apple walnut bread. YUM-O. I believe Robin tried the cuban.
After lunch, Robin headed back to Staten Island and I went to the Upper West Side. In my 1001 ideas book, it mentioned going to Kiehl's, a beauty store for free samples. I'm not sure why, but i wasn't offered any assistance or samples.
Leaving the store I went walked around and ended up at Magniolas Bakery and enjoyed a cupcake. :-| It was sooo good. Almost about to get on the subway, a street promoter handed me a flyer for $5 eyebrow threading. I was in need, so I went. I've had it done in STL for $12, so $5 in NYC is really good. I think I prefer threading to waxing, you should try it!
It started to rain really hard so it was nice the subway stop was really close to the threading place and then really close to my apartment. After showering, I went back to Sutton House for my credit card. On the way back the cab driver wouldn't bring me to my apartment on 34th. He said he would only go to 35th because it was "too crowded". Frustrating...good thing it wasn't raining anymore!
Walking back, I stopped by Sephora to buy more foundation. I like the Sephoras in St. Louis better than the ones in NYC. I had my favorite artist in St. Louis at the West County location. Sadly she moved to LA, so she will not be there when I get back.
Tonight I went to Coppersmith's in Hell's Kitchen. Sara, a girl from MSLO, was guest bartending and asked me to come. I was hoping to have someone to go with, but all of my friends were busy. I decided to go by myself and meet up with her friends since I didn't want to stand her up. While it was awkward at first, it all ended up ok. Another girl from MS was there, so we chatted for awhile.
I'm really having a love hate relationship with the Subways. Some days I do really well and can help others, other times I end up in Queens..... tonight was one of those nights. I made it back in one piece, so that is good. The only bad thing about the subways at night is that they do not run all the time. Waiting on the muggy platforms is not fun at all..
Happy Sunday!
