At work today we had a Town Hall meeting to dicuss the recent CEO changes. It was exciting to see Martha and all of the top executives in one place. Mindi, my manager did a great job explaining everything to me. I hope we have more meetings like this.

I enjoyed Martha's speech. I feel as if she had a lot of good things to say about MSLO's future. Wenda and Robin, the new co-CEOs, are truly passionate about this company and will make great changes. After a bunch of people commented, there was a Q&A session. One of the questions asked about summer parties. Martha reassured there will be some rooftop parties this summer with the possibility of one at her house!! I really hope this happens! Can you imagine?!?

After the meeting, Cheryl informed the team that Martha had time for the furniture meeting at 2pm now instead of later. I felt so bad for the people organizing/running the meeting. We all had to move so fast. I had to print off like 20 different pages. My fingers never went so fast. Lesson learned today: when MS says she has time, so do you and you better be there 2 minutes ago. I heard it all went well, so that is great! I was not able to attend, but the presentation I help make the other day was given to Martha...so i guess I was there in spirit!

Within my department there are a lot of weekly meetings to keep up on each product segment. The meeting I attended last week was so confusing, this week was great. I had so many questions. I'm finally starting to understand! Another intern was added to my department. I felt bad for her because she was in the same position I was a week earlier.

Martha Fact of the Day
: Martha has her style coordinator paint the soles of her Christian Louboutin shoes black. All Louboutin shoes ($600-1000) have a beautiful trademark red sole. She has this done because she does not like being caught up in the fashion branding industry. My thoughts....why buy the expensive stuff then? Buy what you like!

After work I met up with Andrew, Dave, Eric, and some other people from WashU at Rodeo Bar and Grill in the Lower West Side. It was a tex-mex restaurant with great food. I of course got an appetizer for my meal. I tried the empanitas, which were chorizo, chili, cheese, etc. in a homemade crust. Super good. The table ordered a pitcher of frozen (i know..) mango margaritas. I have to say they were pretty darn good. They weren't cheaply made and had a amazing mango flavor. the live music was another fun touch.

Liz, David's girlfriend's old soccer coach recently became the co-owner of the Blue Donkey in the Upper West Side. It was a cute local bar with great drink prices. Liz "bought" be a Yuengling Ale. Yuengling is the oldest brewery in America. This is definately a beer worth trying if you ever get the chance.

I'm not sure if I would ever find this bar back again. I was way out of my geographical element. It was definately a hike to get up there. I walked at least 3 1/2 miles today going to and from places.....at least i'm getting my exercise, especially when I'm wearing my zebra pumps!

Happy Birthday Kate! Wish I was there for dinner! <3
