Since I was out late last night, it took me awhile to get started today. Never in my life have slept in so much. It kind of irritates me.

Finally getting up, I met Marissa from MSLO in Central Park. We laid out on the Great Lawn. We were hoping to catch some sun, but it doesn't look like either of us got any. I'm not quite sure how that happened because it was so sunny and hot. New York had a heat wave this weekend, it was like 95+ degrees all weekend.

Earlier this week Marissa told me about a music festival on Coney Island. When she asked to lay out, I kind of expected to go back to my apartment. Instead, we went straight to Coney Island. I felt like a mess in my swimming suit and cover up. Oh well, you can wear anything in NYC.

While waiting for her roommate, we ate at Pax. It is probably an equivalent to St. Louis Bread Company or as some call it, Panera. Once her roommate arrived, we took the train all the way out to Coney Island to the Siren Music Festival. It was such a long ride out there. I wonder if people do it all the time.

The music festival started earlier in the day, we only went out there for the last concert around 8pm. It was fun to see the island since they are rebuilding it next year. We even rode the Cyclone. Marissa and I were in the second last car, so our car kept coming off the track.....scary! Once we were off the ride, Chase, another intern, met us at the exit. It is fun seeing people outside of the MSLO walls.

Marissa's roommates wanted us to see the boardwalk, so we walked along the beach on the boardwalk. The moon and island looked so nice. Within the craziness it isn't very inviting, but from the boardwalk it looked peaceful and fun. I've also thought Coney Island was a family place, but after my visit, I'm not sure it is.

I really enjoy hanging out with Marissa. She is so motivated and passionate about getting into the magazine industry. She has definately been an inspiration to me throughout this internship. She is an amazing networker, she is definately pushed me to go out and make any connection possible.
