Today was the weekly Lunch and Learn session, this week it was a bit different because it was at the Starrett location and not downtown. Wooho for not leaving 2 hours early to catch the shuttle! Today's speaker was the AVP of Internet. He was so interesting. His career has been filled with so many exciting experiences. He actually created shows and tv stations such as the Rugrats, PowderPuff girls, TV land, WE, and so much more. I really enjoy listening to the top executives talk about the experiences. So many started as interns, it is very uplifting!
You may remember me saying something about the haircut promotion I bought in Union Square. If not, i was convinced to buy this haircut worth $300 for 40 bucks. I "lucked" out and received two instead of one. It all seemed like a sketchy idea, but oh well, he was a great salesperson.
That being said, I went to Alfangi on 5th ave tonight for my haircut. I was very nervous about the session because all of the reviews were horrible online. Fortunately I had a great experience and received a really nice haircut. My stylist, Raphel was amazing. Not only because of the haircut, but because of the conversation. He made me realize so much about my life. (He is studying theology) Life truly is about having fun, living life, and enjoying everything around you. I sometimes get too caught up in the material things and miss what is truly important in life. I'm so happy I met Raphel today!
My promotion package also includes a spa day, I can't wait to go back!
Tonight was a pretty low-key night. I am trying to figure out my future, so that takes awhile and a lot of tedious work. I met with Jamie from Recruiting today after the meeting. She was great, so inviting and positive. Since I am graduating in December, we chatted about the different options I have and some of the techniques i can use to be successful.
While I am all about living today and in the moment, I can't help thinking about my future. I am so excited to see where I end up!
Joanna has been sick this week, she actually missed 1 1/2 days of work! =( Last night she got really sick around 4 am. Hopefully that will not happen tonight since we all need to be "perfect" tomorrow for the Martha meeting.
