and it keeps getting better!

Today was the day I've been waiting months for....the intern meeting with Martha! It was the most amazing day ever. Around 2pm today she met with us in the executive conference room for a presentation. She spoke about how her life, the company and how it has evolved over the years. I was so inspired today. She has such an amazing story. I love working for this company. She was so funny. There were so many little comments or bloopers that were hilarious and it was because she made fun of herself. Martha was so pretty and spoke so well, it was like watching the tv show, minus the cooking.

After her presentation there was a question and answer session. Of course I had been thinking of a question for days, so I asked one. I asked "What do you think the world would be like today without the Martha Stewart empire?" While she was answering she looked directly at me the whole time, it was just amazing.

As a part if a part of her presentation, she requested cookies and iced tea. All of the cookies were from the new Cookies cookbook. She even said she helped the in-house chef make them yesterday. I enjoyed a raspberry cookie sandwhich. She told the intern next to me that the raspberries were from her personal garden. They were so yummy! Everything at MS is yummy. I feel horrible about eating all these sweets all the time, but i keep thinking the MS test kitchens are going to go away in August. Why would I want to pass up amazing MS worthy food??

As some of you may know, MS has a blog she writes everyday. She actually takes all the photos on it. Sally said it is funny how she goes to meetings or on vacations and just asks people to take photos of her with her personal camera. As soon as she walked in, she said smile, you are going to be on my blog! We had our photo taken with her and will be featured soon. I'll post the link when it is up.

There was a rooftop honey party tonight. Another reason the day was the best ever. I am a complete honey freak. Jolyn, Andrea, and Kelly make fun of me all the time at MU. We enjoyed honey drinks and appetizers on the MS roof. The weather was absolutely beautiful. You could see so far. Usually it is so hazy, but tonight it was crystal clear. I love this building.

After the party I went to dinner with Landis, the head lighting designer, Audrey and Cheryl whom i work with everyday, and Susie from styling. We went to Cola an Italian restaurant in Chelsea. It was nice to interact outside of work with full-time MS employees. Everyone at MS is so nice and inviting. We had a really nice time, well at least i did. After dinner, Landis treated us all to Pinkberry. Per his suggestion, i tried the green tea flavor. Alexis said it was really bad when she had it, but i enjoyed it.

I can't believe the day I had, it was truly perfect. I love this company so much! I am so inspired to work hard and come back. Cheryl, the assistant in my row, is going on vacation tomorrow. She trained Carter and I how to manage the phones and assist Theresa and Tod for the next week. I think this is going to be a great experience. This whole summer I have felt like a real employee, I keep forgetting I still have to graduate. I feel as if I'm already done even though i still have 20 credits to take next semester and a lot to learn. I just can't wait to be done! I'm ready to learn more in the real world!

I'm just too excited tonight to go to bed! I have another big day tomorrow and just can't wait. Im going to a meeting with Kevin, martha's left hand, in the morning to present one of the project i'm working on...woohoo!
