Today started off with a visit to the Martha Stewart TV studio. They want to feature furniture on the set, so we were looking at the sizes and possibilities. I was able to see Martha's TV office, so it was very interesting.
I also attended an intern luncheon this afternoon. I had a fabulous lunch from Mangia on the Starrett rooftop.
MSLO is having a tag-sale on Monday. They are selling about 6000 items for 70% off. I am so excited. Unfortunately interns aren't allowed to go until the evening session. I really want to get a 12-piece cookware set that is originally 200 dollars. If there are some left, i can buy it for 60. I am so excited. I also hope to get a few serving trays for my mom. I want to buy something that i can look back on and say " i got this when i worked for Martha Stewart.' I was hoping to buy a lamp since I work a lot with them, but they are only selling the Macy's collection. They have amazing sheets on sale as well. I cannot wait!
Tonight I met up with Marissa, a MSLO intern, and her roommate, Noami. We went to Noami's old place of work for a drink. It was such a cute Japanese restaurant called Lan. All of the places I went tonight were in Union Square. The Union Square area is my favorite NY location. It is so much fun!
After Lan, we went to the Coffee Shop and met up with Andy from the St. Louis California Pizza Kitchen. It was great to see a familiar face. This bar/restaurant had three different scenes, the restaurant, outside seating, and lounge. We mainly hung out in the lounge. I enjoyed this place. It was fun to see the three different atmospheres within the same restaurant. However, I did not enjoy the staff. The host was very rude. After spending majority of our time in the lounge, we decided to go upstairs for dessert. They told us we weren't allowed to sit in a certain area if we weren't ordering dinner. This was crazy because there were so many tables open. We supposedly had to sit in a certain area. Since we couldn't find seating in the "special area" we just left. i wanted to go up to the host and say instead of them making more money off of us, they lost it because of their attitude.
After the Coffee house, Marissa, Sarah, Layla, and I went to Pija. This place had such great decorations. There were so many chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It was fun looking at all of the different styles. This would be a great place for a first date! The sangria was especially good. The stirrer was a cinnamon stick!
I had such a great week at work. I hope it continues throughout the internship. I can't believe I am already done with week two. I hope the whole summer doesn't pass me by. I have so much more to do!
